Objective

When the student has passed the course, he/she will be able to:
- supervise and manage safe (according to pressure equipment directive and environment regulations) and economical use of power plant steam boilers
- to explain the working principles related to fuel, air, flue gas, water, and steam processes of power plant steam boilers and the structure of main components
- to calculate material and energy balances and make a technical design for a power plant steam boiler

Fuels and their treatment, water and steam circuits, burning equipments, combustion of fuels, calculation of efficiency, heat exchangers and their design, fouling and corrosion of heat exchangers, auxiliary equipment, control principles, flue gas cleaning, water treatment
