Objective

- you can observe and analyse three-dimensionality
- you understand the most important concepts of three-dimensional composition
- you understand the structure and functions of the human body in terms of plastic composition (sculpture)
- you can use the common materials of plastic composition (such as clay and plaster)
- you can apply the principles of three-dimensional composition to the design tasks of your own field

Content

How to perceive the three-dimensional world?
What are the basic principles of three-dimensional composition?
Which materials and techniques should I use when studying three-dimensional forms?
How do I create captivating and interesting forms?
How can I utilise my artistic understanding in my profession?

Exercises relevant to the professional field, associated with the Art and design history, Fine arts and Formgiving courses.

Student workload

5 op equals 135h (1op = 27h). Part of the 5 op work is to be done during contact lessons and the rest independently.

Content scheduling

The course is divided in two parts. Part one emphasizes basic composition skills in art, second part empasizes composition in fashion design. Course themes include e.g three dimensional working and human body.

The course includes lectures and assignments which are partly done during the lessons and partly independently.
