Clinical practice III (10 cr)

Objective

You manage the podiatric needs and care of special groups and you are able to assess and follow the clients’ results in podiatric processes.
You understand the principles of treatment of foot ulcers and the different stages of client care processes.
You can give individual guidance to clients, taking into account their overall wellbeing and home care circumstances.
You understand the importance of footwear, special aids and offloading.
You understand the importance and meaning of multi-professional collaboration, both from the clients’ and the medical staff's perspective.

Content

How do podiatric services of clients with special needs take place in the hospital?
How do you assess the results of treatment?
What are the principles of treatment of foot ulcers and the various stages of the client care processes?
What is client-oriented guidance?
What is the importance of footwear, aids and offloading in podiatry?
What are the benefits of multi-professional cooperation to clients and medical staff?

Evaluation

Students can

Harjoittelu ma 6.3.2023 - to 13.4.2023 (vk 10 - 15)

Harjoitteluun liittyvien tehtävien palautus on kaksi viikkoa harjoittelun päättymisen jälkeen.

Student workload

Työskentelymäärä on 35h / viikko, jonka lisäksi opiskelijalle on varattu jokaiselle viikolle 5h itsenäisten oppimistehtävien tekemiseen. Näistä opiskelijan työmääräksi muodostuu 40h / viikko
