- You deepen your target group and customer-oriented thinking.
- You can design and produce experiences for users.
- You study the different trends, styles, lifestyle, and the cultural messages of products.
- You produce a service, applying and shaping existing products considering the needs of the target group.

- You understand the importance of brand-building and its opportunities in a variety of contexts: the production of experience and events, concrete products, such as clothing collections and costumes.
- You learn the criteria of visual marketing and design the visual image and marketing material.
- You learn target group thinking and customer-oriented approach in product / service marketing.

Content
- How do style and fashion theories (Simmel, Bourdieu, Schulze) help you analyse different kind of experience worlds of consumers?
- How to adapt your vision to the style and values of the client?
- How to apply international trend information to your design, become familiar with fairs in the field, and make use of information provided by material supply agencies?
- How to observe and collect data related to the changing fashion and interior design?
- How to analyse your selected topic from the viewpoints of different theories?
- How to carry out an exercise in which you define the client or target group and create a product or service, which serves their values, hopes and needs?
- The client / representative of the target group will take part in the design process from the beginning.
Opiskelumateriaali
Study material will be announced at the progress of the course. During the course, the teacher will share learning materials, files, links, etc. according to the theme of each class on the Learn platform. The material will also be partly personalised, depending on the individual big exercise.
Yksilölliset oppimisväylät
The course is a continuous course, where the student is expected to follow the teaching (lectures) from beginning to end. Lectures are accompanied by mutual dialogue and classroom work, also in groups.
Individual pathways (possibly partial) should be discussed with the course teacher in advance.

There is no actual cooperation with external parties, except for a large-scale exercise involving consultation with companies in the sector. The content of the course is also strongly theoretical.
Tentit ja muut määräajat
The extensive personal assignment, in addition to smaller exercises, measures the student's learning and assimilation of the topics over the course of the course. There is no written exam.

There is no real international cooperation, except for the collection of information on international clothing brands.

Toteutuksen osien kuvaus
The first part of the course focuses on the sociology of dress and fashion, the concepts of fashion and style, and the development and history of fashion research.
The second half of the course will focus on commercial issues, trends, brands, marketing and business.
