Objective
You understand the principles of agile development and the application possibilities in the development of welfare services.
You manage the process of user-oriented planning, testing and assessment of welfare services at a general level.
You can identify and solve challenges and problems related to the development of welfare services and pitch your solutions.
You can use the tools and methods of agile development in the development of welfare services.
Content
What does agile development mean and how can it be applied in the development of welfare services?
How can user-oriented design and testing be integrated into the development of welfare services in an agile way?
How to identify and solve challenges and problems related to the development of welfare services in accordance with the principles of agile development?
How to use the tools and methods of agile development, such as iterative development and gathering feedback, in the development of welfare services effectively?
Evaluation
Students can
a. find, study, produce and evaluate critically data related to agile wellbeing services development.
b. solve demanding problems related to wellbeing service development and innovation.
d. be responsible and develop functions independently.
e. assess different strategic approaches and justify their use from the viewpoint of developing services.
Course material
All the materials are available in learning platform "Learn".
Study forms and methods
The implementation entails two (2) online meetings, small group meetings and scheduled online studies. Online meetings are scheduled on Friday 13.2.2026 klo 13.30-15 ja 10.4.2026 klo 12.30-14. Small groups are divided in the first online meetings.
During the online meetings and small group meetings main focus is in discussions where students share ideas and reflect on their findings. Between meetings the students can use learning platform "Learn". Attendance in the online and small group meetings are mandatory and absence must be compensated.
The course is carried out within the group 's DHMI25SY_90 curriculum schedule. The students must complete individual assignments and group assignments. Assignments' schedule is published at 2.2.2026.
The teacher provides guidance during the contact meetings. Also individual guidance is provided upon agreement.
Feedback is provided by different methods, in writing and/or orally. Also, peer feedback can be used.
RDI and work-related cooperation
The content and assignments are based on the needs of working life. Assignments can be related to one's own service or product development.
Timing of exams and assignments
All assignments must be returned before the end date of course. Course can not be passed with just an exam. Individual and group assignments' return schedule is published at 2.2.2026.
The end date of the course is presented in the course details. By this date, the student must submit all assignments, take the required exams and meet all other conditions set for an approved course completion.

Student workload
1 ECTS credits equals 27 hours of work by the student. Work load is dependent on student's experience and learning skills.
In a 5-credit course, the student's total maximum workload is approximately 135 hours including online meetings, group work and independent study and assignments.

Assessment methods and criteria
The student’s performance is assessed with reference to the learning objectives and assessment criteria of the course. The completion of the course requires approved return of the assignments to the learning platform. You must receive required minimum points for grade.
