Objective
You can utilize multidisciplinary knowledge related to the health and wellbeing of different population and age groups.
You can recognize promotive and preventive models of health promotion on the population, community, and individual levels and use them in different situations and levels demanded.
You can utilize models related to health intervention projects in the planning and evaluation of the programs.

What kind of approaches and models of Health Promotion on the population, community and individual levels do you recognize?
How do you choose the model for different communities and age groups?
How do you utilize models on the individual level?
How to choose an appropriate model in the different health interventions?
Evaluation
Students can
a. evaluate and make critical use of multidisciplinary data in health promotion models.
b. solve creatively complex problems in research, development and innovation related in the use of theoretical models of health promotion
e. use new approaches in the utilization of models related in the demanded situations
g. communicate and interact in demanding international contexts of the field of theoretical models in health promotion.
Course material
English and Finnish learning material. Books, e-book, scientific articles.
Study forms and methods
Scheduled track:
Lectures, group work and discussions in the class room teaching. Independent information search and literature concerning models and theirs applicability. Reading and small group working in the web. Assignments, an oral presentation and comments. Written exam.
Student workload
Lectures, small group work, discussions and web based learning in the small groups 40%
Literature, independent information search, assignments, an oral presentation and comments. Exam 60%.

The student can
a. describe and evaluate theoretical models of health promotion.
b. apply theoretical models or theirs parts in the health promotion in the different population groups.
c. use theoretical models in the health promotion projects as the part of the strategic approach.

g. communicate and interact in international contexts related to health promotion models.
