Objective

You know building physics measurement methods and learn to use research equipment and meters.
You can deepen your understanding of building physics theories through practical measurement tasks and result analysis.
You can apply building physics theories to moisture-related issues, especially by exploring structural solutions (airtightness, breathable structures).

Content

How are investigations conducted in real-world settings?
How do structures function from a building physics perspective?
How is the building physics performance of structures determined?

Evaluation scale

1-5

Qualifications

Rakennusfysiikka-opintojakso tulee olla suoritettuna

Further information

Investigation 1: Indoor climate study (Relative humidity and temperature)
Investigation reporting (Indoor air measurements)
Investigation 2: Conducting thermal imaging of a single-family home or similar property in a small group, on a jointly acquired site.
Laboratory work: moisture measurements and practice using research equipment (including air tightness testing)
Calculation exercises and results analysis
Preparing research reports (Moisture measurements and thermal camera imaging)
