Diminishing natural resources, overgrowing population together with climate change force societies around the world to become more efficient and less polluting. Wise use of resources is becoming part of international competitiveness. Achieving sustainability requires a transition to circular economy, where the value of products, materials and resources is maintained in the economy for as long as possible, and wastage minimized.
Extension of product life cycle, service utilization, and the use of renewable resources, cities and municipalities can strengthen regional economies and employment, create new business opportunities and improve well-being of residents.
In a resourceful area, residents can develop their own environment towards a more sustainable model, making the city a more comfortable place to live.
This module focuses on tools used to enable and promote the transition to circular economy internationally, nationally as well as on organizational and even personal levels.
