Objective
You can create a general view of a research problem, assess the applicability of quantitative research for solving the problem and decide what kind of data must be collected for the research. You have the ability to measure, collect and arrange quantitative research data and access pre-arranged data from different sources. You have the ability to apply basic statistical methods in research data processing and to produce simple results of analysis in tabulated or graphical form needed for conclusions. You can analyse the results of analysis and draw conclusions from results. You are able to use simple statistical tests when assessing the statistical significance of results of analysis.
Content
What kind of problems can be solved by using quantitative research? What information is crucial for solving a research problem and how is it measured? What sampling methods are available in collection of research units and what kind of methods can be used in collection of data? What do descriptive, comparative and explanatory analysis mean? What different types of output can be created from data processing and how are they analyzed? How is the statistical significance of results assessed by using tests and statistical decision?
Qualifications
Basic knowledge in mathematics and ability to use formulas.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
a) You use professional vocabulary and concepts proficiently. g) You can describe the research problem and the phases of its solution and present the results and final conclusions.
