Objective
Students can use the basic structures and vocabulary of the Finnish language in simple oral and written everyday situations. Students are able to follow simple speech and read short texts with familiar topics.
Content
What kind of vocabulary and structures are needed in everyday communication? How to use the basic structures in everyday situations? How to practise to follow everyday speech?
Qualifications
Attending the course requires English skills enabling academic studies. Attending the courserequires basic skills in Finnish, eg worth 5 ECTS credits.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
a. Students can use basic vocabulary. c. Students can identify various contexts. d. Students can communicate in everyday situations. f. Students can work as team-members in a goal-oriented way. In addition, the assessment of Mamk Finnish studies relies on the competence levels defined in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. In general, the course aims at enhancing A1-level Finnish skills, but achieving grades 4 to 5 on this course could already represent A2-level skills.
