Objective

After completing the course, the students will be able to manage in simple everyday situations. The students will have a command of phrases, statements and questions and vocabulary for expression of time and location. The students will be familiar with enhancement of elementary grammatical features in Finnish language. After completing the course, the students will be able to apply their skills in real-life situations both orally and literally. The students are able to expand their vocabulary and knowledge of language usage from different sources, also independently. In the core competence are included intercultural adaptability and internationalization competence.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The targets of the assessment are described in the implementation of the course. Scale: Excellent (5), good (4 - 3), pass (2 - 1), fail (0). Grades 3 - 5 require language skills in the European A1 level. Active participation in the tuition is a prerequisite for passing the course. Active participation means the following:The student attends 75% of the amount of contact lessons unless the course implementation informs otherwise. The language lecturers record attendances in attendance registers. A course that is failed due to too many absences cannot be resat by retaking the exam. Instead, the student has to attend the course again.The student makes sure that they have the study material (e.g. the textbook) specified in the curriculum.The student takes part in the activities instructed by the lecturer in the contact lessons.The student completes the given homework according to the lecturer's instructions and on time.
