Objective
During the course, students concentrate on either Europe, Asia or Russia as a Trade Area. At the end of the study unit, the student is expected to be able to describe the key events of the EU history/Asian business history/Russian business history explain the roles of the EU, Asian or Russian institutions relevant to international product or service trade describe the key policies of the EU, Asian or Russian trade organizations identify relevant dimensions of culture to be able to do business in the area able to assess business opportunities and risks of either EU, Asia or Russia as a business area describe the seller's and buyer's main rights and obligations in consumer sales in EU and Finland solve simple and most common conflicts in consumer sales
Content
History of the European Union/Asia/Russia from business point of view, Operational environment: the relevant institutions, decision making processes, key policies, risks and opportunities and current issues and trends in the European/Asian/Russian policy Business cultures in Europe/Asia/Russia EU directives on consumer sales, Finnish consumer law.
