Objective

You have skills to support and promote the independence and inclusion of disabled youth, adults and aging people in multi professional client work. You are able to specify and analyse disability as a cultural and historic phenomenon. You are able to analyse the position of disabled people in the Finnish society and service system. You know the main laws and other norms regulating the work among persons with disabilities.

Content

How can disability be defined as a historic and cultural concept? How are the rights of disabled fulfilled and how are they being promoted in the Finnish society and service system? How do you support disabled peoples’ ability to function in their youth, as an adult and while aging? How is the work with disabled regulated by law?

Qualifications

Knowledge base and work orientation module. Special education.
