Objective

Students can use basic business English vocabulary actively. Students can use the most relevant information sources of their field for different communication purposes. Students can use English both orally and in writing in different communication situations relevant to their field.

Content

What key vocabulary do students need in different communication situations of their field? What different sources of information can students use in different situations? How do students communicate efficiently both orally and in writing in English?

Qualifications

Attending the course requires English skills enabling academic studies.

Students a) can systematically use the key vocabulary of their field b) can look for information in the most relevant information sources of their field c) can work together with colleagues, customers and target groups and communicate well both orally and in writing in different communication situations The evaluation criteria of English skills are based on the proficiency level descriptions defined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. In addition to the UAS students’ skill levels used at Mamk, the assessment of English studies relies on the competence levels defined in The Common European Frame of Reference and the national skill level descriptions that are based on the European framework.
