Osaamistavoitteet

The student will have an understanding of the processes involved in manufacturing industries and service sector and how to improve flexibility and productivity especially in manufacturing environment. The student is aware of sustainable development´s requirements in business operations.

Sisältö

Operations management principles and measuring the key figures of productivity. Controlling of inventories, lot-size philosophy and replenishment systems. MRP. Product planning and product design. Improvement of operations: JIT, LEAN. Business Game, in which the managing of operations and decision making is trained in teams in a real-like business environment.

Two written exams, assignments, obligatory participation and reporting of business game results. Excellent 90-100 % (5), good 80-89 %(4), satisfactory 70-79 % (3), passable 50-69 % (1-2), fail < 50 % (0)
