Objective

You have knowledge of the key concepts and phenomena of physical chemistry in the field of thermodynamics, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics and solutions. You study chemical change and chemical equilibrium by laboratory measurements. You master the key principles of chemical laboratory work.

Content

What are the key concepts of thermodynamics and what is their meaning from process’ perspective? What kinds of factors affect chemical equilibrium and rate of reaction? How is the rate of reaction described by reaction rate equation and how is the rate constant defined? What are the main analytical techniques of electrochemistry? What are the basic working methods and principles of safe laboratory work?

Qualifications

Basic engineering physics and chemistry or corresponding skills.
