Objective

After successfully completing this course of study, students will be able to demonstrate: the ability to utilise image and design management thinking in the construction of new products and services. the ability to conceptualise (to produce pictorial concepts) and present options for a company. the ability to formulate a company's image objectives in collaboration with a company. the ability to produce a new conceptual business model, in collaboration with a company. an understanding of the product/service intellectual property rights, and know how to apply for funding. knowledge of the production phases in a company. the ability to launch marketing for a new product. the ability to use project management, cost accounting, and visualisation methods in production.

Content

How will the newproduct/service be produced together with a company for the market? How does a multi-disciplinary team conceptualise and commercialise products for the market? How are new inventions commercialised for the market?

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Assessment is based on the students' abiltiy to demonstrate the following: the ability to take advantage of design management expertise in new product/service production. the ability to use conceptualisation and commercialisation in the planning of a new product/service. the ability to take advantage of the benefits of intellectual property rights.
