You know the needs for the selection of a material set by operating conditions, manufacturing and economic efficiency You pay attention to life cycle approach when you select a material You can use up-to-date methods and facilities in selection of  a material You are familiar with the basic methods for testing materials and products and you can utilize them in specifying their properties

Content

What is meant by needs-profile and property-profile? What is meant by materials indexes or merit parameters? How is weighted value analysis applied in materials selection? What is meant by life cycle analysis and how is it applied in materials selection? How do you select materials computer-aided, for example by using CES software?

Qualifications

Polymer Chemistry or equivalent knowledge Principles of Materials Technology or equivalent knowledge
