What is meant by regulation and control block diagrams, time constants and stability?
What are the basic quantities, units and basic components of electrical engineering?
What are motor drives?
How do EC motors and their control work?
What is meant by the actuator and sensor technology?
How do variable-frequency drives and their control work?

Qualifications

Attending the course requires completing the courses of Engineering mathematics 1 and 2 and Basic engineering physics and chemistry.

Self-administered online intermediate tests.
Laboratory exercises in the electrical laboratory in Mikkeli.
It is also possible to complete the course with an exam and an approved laboratory exercise or by applying for recognition of competence by presenting a substitute course credit.

Assessment methods and criteria

The evaluation is based on the total score from the electronic intermediate tests and the approved laboratory exercise. In addition to an approved laboratory exercise, it is required to achieve a minimum score for the approved completion of the course from the electronic intermediate tests.
