Objective
Knowledge, understanding and proficiency of STCW tables A-VI/6-1 and A-VI/6-2 functions: Security awareness training for all seafarers and training for seafarers with designated security duties. This course concentrates on learning the following competencies:
- contribute to the enhancement of maritime security through heightened awareness
- recognition of security threats and risks
- understanding of the need for and methods of maintaining security awareness and vigilance
- maintain the conditions set out in a ship security plan
- undertake regular security inspections of the ship
- proper usage of security equipment and systems.
Content
This course contains theory studies in the following subject areas:
- security related knowledge and procedures, which are required in a ship security plan of a person who has security duties on board ship.
The content of this course complies with IMO model course 3.26.
