Basics of Clinical PodiatryLaajuus (5 cr)

Objective

You are familiar with the podiatric diagnosis and you have knowledge of the basics of intermedicine, neurology and dermatology. You have knowledge of the special treatment skills for nail diseases. You can define the treatment principles and foot care of the diseases which have effect on the functions of lower extremities. You are familiar with the people with musculoskeletal illnesses and how they effect on feet.  You are able to plan guidance situations for groups with special needs, either individually or in groups and podiatry projects together with working life. 

Content

Intermedical 1 cr: Cardiovascular disesases, stroke, asthma, diabetes, rheumatoid arhritis, cancer. Neurology 1 cr: Stoke, Parkinson´s disease, CP, epilepsy Dermatology 0,5 cr: Examination of skin and treatment, psoriasis, athopic skin, skin allergies, other common skin diseases. The foot in diabetes - podiatric care Diabetic risk foot Musculoskeletal illnesses (The foot in rheumatoid arthritis) Podiatric Dermatology  

Qualifications

Podiatric assesment in different ages 5 cr, Basics  and methods of podiatry 5 cr
