Objective

You indicate familiarity with general surgical diseases. You know the general methods of anesthesia and the basis of pain treatment. You are able to use the nursing interventions inpre – and post surgery. You know how to do medication therapy, pain management and wound care treatments. You can observe, evaluate and react the situation of surgical patient. You know how to guide the surgical patient, and you know how to rehabilitative health care criteria. You know how to identify patient safety issues in perioperative nursing. You know how to acquire knowledge, consider and evaluate it critically.

Content

What are the common surgical diseases, its symptoms and interventions? What are the general method of anesthesia? How do you take nursing ethics into account in surgical nursing? How do you accomplish the guiding and nursing of the surgical patient in the most common surgical diseases? How do you accomplish the surgical patient's medication therapy, pain management and wound care treatment? How do you accomplish the patient's blood transfusion? How do you observe the patient's needs, safety issues and asepsis during operative care nursing? Surgical Nursing 4 ECTS Perioperative Nursing 1 ECTS
