Objective

You learn the principles of layered network structures, LAN devices, transmission media types as well as common cabling systems.  You get familiar with TCP/IP protocols and IP addressing structures including subneting. You learn the principles of switching technologies, virtual LANs, trunking as well as wireless local area networks.  

Content

Why we use layered network structures? What ate the building blocks of local area networks? What are the main characteristics of different types of transmission media? How to create an IP address plan for a network? How to configure a switch with virtual LANs?
