Basics of Research and Development WorkLaajuus (5 cr)

Objective

You familiarize yourself with the research and development work in service sector. You are able to participate in the methodological discussions of service sector. You learn to use different kinds of R&D methods in studying and in projects and know how to collect data for R&D work. You know the basics of statistical data processing and understand the principles of the most common statistical calculation methods. You can analyze both qualitative and quantitative data using IT technology. You enhance your communication skills required in R&D work.

Content

In the beginning of the course you become familiar with R&D areas and methods of service sector. After that you learn the process of R&D work, different research strategies, various means to collect data and methods to analyze data. You become familiar with the methods of developing working life and the communation skills needed in the research and development work.
