Objective

You can actively use the key vocabulary in tourism so that you can interact in different oral and written customer service and communication situations in your own professional field. You understand specialist texts in your field and are able to apply what you learn to various professional communication situations. You understand the special cultural characteristics of the language area and take them into consideration in both oral and written communication at work. 

Content

What is the key vocabulary you need in communication and customer service situations in your own professional field? How do you manage also difficult customer service situations politely keeping in mind the customer's own cultural background? How do you present a company, services, destination or product in Swedish and how do you manage written and oral marketing? How do you look for information in professional texts and apply it in your work? 

Qualifications

Attending the course requires English skills enabling academic studies. 

Assessment criteria, good (3)

a) You can systematically use the the professional vocabulary of the field. c) You manage oral and written communication situations with customers, users and target groups. b) You can look for information in in the key information sources of the field.    In addition, the assessment of UAS English studies relies on the competence levels defined in the Common European Frame of Reference for Languages.
