Objective

The aim is to give the student an overview of the internationalization process. S/he knows about different international operation modes and is able to choose amongst them for different situations. At the end of the course, the student is expected to be able to:explain the differences between various internationalization operation modescreate an internationalization strategy for a small or medium size companydecide which markets to enterdecide how to enter the foreign marketunderstand the importance of networking and how to networkcreate a justified internationalisation plandevelop project management skills such as communication with others, keeping timetables, and solving problems

Internationalization process models and different international operation modesinternationalization process of the firmplan for the internationalisation of a firmunderstanding of international operational modes such as for example exports, imports, licensing, franchising, management contract operations, subcontracting and contract manufacturing, projects, sales, and subsidiary operationsthe global marketplace and influences by micro- and macro business environment

Students are evaluated on their knowledge, skills and attitudes. To be graded 1-5.
