English Preparatory Course 2Laajuus (3 cr)

Objective

After completion of the course, the student is able to: assess the stengths and weaknesses of their learning skills use various language learning methods   Their skill level in English should be at least B1 (Common European Framework Reference Levels) in all areas of language use. They are able to describe their plans and opinions pronounce English intelligibly deliver a simple and comrehensible presentation with prior preparation on a familiar topic use most structures satisfactorily, basic structures fairly well express their thoughts in comprehensible writing by producing a fairly clear, simple, and mostly coherent text

  small conversations a small presentation on a familiar topic: preparing for the presentation and assessing others' presentations text-based study, including listening comprehension, reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, etc. exercises structures: revision of tenses, passive, future and conditional, numerical expressions, dates, infinitive expressing purpose
