South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk) provides you with a versatile range of studies to choose from. You can draw up your own personal study plan based on your own timetable and life situation. Three different tracks for completing studies make it possible to study during the day, in the evenings or at weekends, blended with your work or with an intensive time frame.

This study guide menu’s sections Full-time studies, Blended studies and Master’s degree programmes give you access to the curricula of Xamk’s Bachelor and Master level studies.

Optional studies include courses that all degree programme students can choose and complete. They help you to profile your know-how and skills according to your professional interests. This menu section lists studies that you can include in your degree as optional studies and as complementary competence.

Open UAS studies are available for all regardless of age and previous education. These studies are mainly for other than Xamk’s degree students and consist of courses and/or modules of the degree programme studies. These studies are therefore recognised as parts of a degree, if you later apply for a right to study in a degree programme at Xamk. Open UAS studies are free of charge for pensioners and students of upper secondary education, and you can complete courses belonging to a degree, but not a full degree.

The section of Other studies provides information on the following forms of education:

▪  Diplomas of higher education: These studies provide you with well-targeted know-how and skills for the working life needs. The diplomas of higher education cover extensive Open UAS studies of 60 ECTS.

▪  Continuing education and professional development: Working life requires that you maintain and update your know-how and skills continually. This kind of development guarantees organisations’ competitive edge and maintains and improves their personnel’s competence, abilities and wellbeing at work. Through our courses of continuing education and professional development you can update your professional skills for the labour market needs and increase your wellbeing, motivation and enthusiasm at work.

▪  Specialisation studies: This form of studies complements degree programme studies and continuing education. Specialisation studies are designed for graduates with degrees of higher education and work experience to promote their professional development.
