The student understands the classification of pain based on its cause and duration.
The student knows different methods to measure pain in rehabilitation.
The student can explain the basic physiology of pain.
The student understands the effects of pain on the mental functioning of a human.

The course content consists of three topics related to the:

1. Classification and measurement of pain (1 ECTS credit)
2. Physiological mechanisms of pain (2 ECTS credits)
3. Effects of pain on individual physical and mental functioning in rehabilitation (2 ECTS credits)
