You become familiar with the concepts of smart grids, sub-regions and computer-based calculation methods.

Content

What are the basic concepts of smart grids?
What are the key areas of LVDC technology?
What are the possibilities and methods for energy storage?
What are the opportunities for demand response?
What are the fundamental requirements for the operation of microgrids?
How are power grids analysed using simulation systems?

Evaluation

Students can
a. acquire, process, produce, and critically assess multidisciplinary knowledge in their area of expertise.
b. solve complex problems in research, development, and/or innovation activities.
d. independently manage and develop operations.
g. communicate professionally and coherently both orally and in writing in their native language and in one foreign language.
