After completing this course the student is able to understand the importance of intercultural communication in today´s global world define and identify elements of interpersonal communication and culture in the global multicultural teams compare and contrast cultureal values, beliefs and different communication styles recognize negative perception: prejudice, negative stereotyping and ethnocentrism analyze intercultural interaction and evaluate situations using intercultural communication skills describe intercultural communication (culture, communication, stereotypes) recognize intercultural encounters (culture shock, re-entry shock, acculturation, working in a multicultural working environment) describe different cultural dimensions (power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism - collectivism, career success and quality of life, concept of time) understand meaning of verbal and non-verbal communication in an intercultural context
