Objective

You know the concepts and definitions of physical conditions (temperature, humidity, sound, lighting and radiation conditions) in indoor environment.
You understand the importance of structures and the temperature and humidity of air for the quality of indoor environment.
You know the sources of moisture in buildings and moisture transmission mechanisms.
You know how to carry out noise measurements indoors and to assess the reliability and relevance of the results.

Content

What is the importance of various physical phenomena in buildings and how do they affect the quality of indoor environment?
How does moisture transfer and condense in structures?
How does thermal energy transfer in structures?
What are the various sources of noise indoors and how does sound move in structures?
How can building acoustic conditions be determined by measuring?
What are the types of radiation and how does radon work as the source of radiation?

Evaluation

Students can
