Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- designing, installing and maintaining the ship's electrical installations
- taking into consideration potentially explosive atmospheres in electrical design, installation and maintenance

Content

- electrical power distribution boards and electrical equipment
- potentially explosive atmospheres and considerations in their design and equipment selection (SFS-EN 60079)
- classification of spaces

Students can
- use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/6 column 4 are used:
- operation of equipment and system is in accordance with operating manuals
- performance levels are in accordance with technical specifications
