Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- basic principles of and components in electricity generation, transmission and distribution, and utilization of electric energy
- structure, components and characteristics of the electric distribution network
- overcurrent and earth-fault protection of the isolated and compensated network

- structure of electricity production and consumption
- principles and basic components of electrical networks
- operating principles of the electricity market

Students can
- use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/6 column 4 are used:
- electrical distribution systems can be understood and explained with drawings/instructions
