Objective

You know how to use the basic concepts of media education.
You can use different kinds of methods of media education.
You can analyse the motives of media texts and support young people’s influencing possibilities in the media.
You identify different kinds of harmful media contents and know the tools for protecting children and young people from them.

Content

What are the basic concepts of media education?
What are the needs, goals and practices of media education?
How can young people's multiliteracy, inclusion and influencing be developed?
How can young people be supported in the use of a safer and more responsible Internet?

Evaluation

Students can
b) assess information sources critically.
e) choose appropriate media education methods according to the purpose and justify these choices.
g) apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.
