Objective

You know the basics of process modeling and can prepare and use different process models in the dimensioning and designing of equipment and processes.
You know how to consider safety and environmental impacts in process design.
You know the basics of feasibility assessment of a plant investment.

Content

What does process modeling mean?
What tools can be used to describe and simulate processes?
How can models be used in equipment dimensioning?
What are the steps in the environmental permit process?
What kind of safety inspections should be prepared for the plant?
How can the profitability of a plant be evaluated?

Evaluation

a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
b. assess information sources critically.
c. work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field.
e. choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
f. promote teams' goal-oriented operation.
g. apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.
