Objective

You can identify macroscopically the most important domestic tree species. You know the microscopic and chemical structure as well as the physical properties of wood. You learn to identify the defects of wood and understand their meaning in the processes of using and refining wood. You can analyze the relations between the raw material and end products in different refining processes of the forest industry.

How is the structure of wood microscopically and macroscopically?
How do the different physical and chemical properties of wood affect different refining processes?
What are the most important production methods in the wood products industry and mechanical and chemical pulping?
