Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- basics of thermodynamics with calculations associated with processes and system components
- heat transmission
- cycles and theories needed to safely and economically operate heat processes, devices and pressure vessels

- heat transfers
- basics of thermodynamics
- solids of matter
- changes of ideal gas state
- entrophy
- thermodynamic cycles

Materials

Approved training during studies

Evaluation

Students can
- use professional vocabulary systematically
- look for information in the key information sources of the field
- use the key models, methods, software and techniques of the professional field
- justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/2 column 4 are used:
- explanation and understanding of design features and operating mechanisms are appropriate
