Objective
You can identify factors and individual features influencing the health and functioning of the elderly.
You can apply multi-scientific knowledge of gerontological and geriatric rehabilitation when assessing and guiding elderly people to promote their functioning.
You can plan, implement and assess actions and services which promote the health and functioning of the elderly to correspond with their wishes and demands.
You can support independent coping and participation of the elderly in their living environment.
You can cooperate as a physiotherapy expert in multi-professional teams and networks.
Content
How do you account for the life course and living environment of individuals as the basis of supporting the functioning of the elderly?
How do you account for geriatrics, medication and pain, when assessing and affecting the functioning of the elderly?
How do you guide the elderly to identify their own resources and to participate in promoting their functioning?
How do you advise the elderly to choose, purchase and use assistive devices and technological solutions?
How do you plan non-obstacle environments to support the elderly’s coping?
How do you advise the elderly to use the services and possibilities of their living environment for promoting functioning?
How do you make use of health care technology to promote the functions of the elderly?
Qualifications
Attending the course requires that the learning outcomes of the 1st and 2nd academic years are achieved.

Clinical practice IV 5 ECTS credits
Establishing a company 3 ECTS credits
Social and health care legislation 2 ECTS credits
Bachelor's thesis: implementation 5 ECTS credits
Evaluation
Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
