Objective

This course is part of Cost-Effective Design and Manufacturing module. During the course you will deepen your competence in machine design. After the course, you will know the operating principles and solutions that can be used to manage the costs of the manufacturing company. You understand the impact of design on costs. You are able to design a simple product, taking into account the cost impacts, and you are able to justify your choices in the design work.

You are able to model, draw, and dimension simple machine components/structures. You are familiar with the most typical manufacturing methods and materials used in mechanical engineering.
