Objective

After completing this course, the student - is able to encounter, identify, treat and refer for treatment customers with substance abuse issues - utilises the knowledge and working methods of the field and knows how to work within the boundaries set by legislation - treats substance abuse as an illness and understands recovery-oriented care - is able to encounter and support the loved ones of addicts and understand how addiction can affect loved ones - is able to work in a way that promotes customers’ health - uses the methods of substance abuse prevention in their work

Pass The student demonstrates through active participation and learning assignments their competence in - encountering, identifying, treating and referring for treatment customers with substance abuse issues - utilising the knowledge and working methods of the field as well as working within the boundaries set by legislation, treating substance abuse as an illness and understanding recovery-oriented care - encountering and supporting the loved ones of addicts and understanding how addiction can affect loved ones - working in a way that promotes customers’ health and using the methods of substance abuse prevention in their work Fail Learning outcomes not met
