Objective

After the study course Nursing for Children and Adolescents, the student: Knows the principles of family care work and is able to apply its methods Can apply his / her knowledge of the most important diseases of children / adolescents when performing nursing work Can assess the need for care of a patient in need of urgent care Can apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, applied pharmacology and the implementation of pharmacotherapy when planning, implementing and evaluating safe drug therapy for different diseases in different groups of clients / patients Can monitor, evaluate and record the effects of drug treatment Can guide the patient and his / her family at different stages of nursing Can identify, assess and treat client / patient pain Can assess the nutritional status of a child and adolescent and identify a child and adolescent client / patient at risk of malnutrition.

Understands the principles and regulations that guide nursing of children and young people Can identify the key measures and methods used in nursing of children and young people Can identify the principles of sustainable development in nursing of children and young people Can identify the key features of nursing of children and young people with intellectual disabilities Understands the assessment and principles of a child and young person's need for care Knows how to describe their knowledge of medicine, evidence-based nursing and medically assisted treatment when planning, implementing and evaluating care for children and young people, pain management and safe medically assisted treatment Is able to carry out dose calculations for children and young people flawlessly Understands the importance of family support and guidance in nursing a sick child or young person

Understands the principles and regulations that guide nursing of children and young people Understands the importance of family support and guidance in nursing a sick child or young person, and is able to guide the child and the family Understands and can apply the principles of sustainable development in nursing of children and young people Knows and can make use of the key measures and methods used in nursing of children and young people Knows and is able to apply their knowledge of disabilities when caring for a person with intellectual disabilities or physical disabilities Understands and knows how to assess a patient child or young person’s need for care Knows how to apply knowledge of medicine, evidence-based nursing and medically assisted treatment when planning, implementing and evaluating care for children and young people, pain management and safe medically assisted treatment in cooperation with families Is able to carry out dose calculations for children and young people flawlessly

Understands and is able to apply the principles and regulations that guide nursing of children and young people in a versatile manner Understands the importance of family support and guidance in nursing a sick child or young person, and is able to guide the child and the family in a customer-oriented manner Understands and can apply the principles of sustainable development in nursing of children and young people in a versatile manner Knows and can make use of the key measures and methods used in nursing of children and young people while considering the patient as an individual Is able to apply their knowledge of disabilities when caring for a person with intellectual disabilities or physical disabilities in a customer-first manner Understands and knows how to assess a patient child or young person’s need for care in a customer/patient-first manner Knows how to apply knowledge of medicine, evidence-based nursing and medically assisted treatment when planning, implementing and evaluating care for children and young people, pain management and safe medically assisted treatment in cooperation with families in a versatile manner Is able to carry out dose calculations for children and young people flawlessly
