Objective

This course is part of the Nursing, Profiling Competence module o Deeper evidence-based competence in the evaluation of the need for palliative patient care, in special issues of customer-oriented symptom treatment and in psychosocial support for families and patients o Mastery of dose calculations and familiarity with the key medicine groups used in palliative care and ability to implement and assess the medically assisted treatment and pain management of a patient o Understanding of the impacts of the social and healthcare reform on the service processes of palliative care and rehabilitation, and the operating principles required by sustainable development o Can analyse the special features of well-being at work and the multiprofessional work community in palliative care

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Is familiar with the special issues of palliative patient care and is able to apply care measures according to the needs of the patient and their family Can calculate the doses of the medicines used in palliative care flawlessly Uses professional concepts related to palliative care systematically and is able to justify activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development Can apply factors that promote personal and the work community’s well-being in the operating environment of palliative care

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Is familiar with the special issues of palliative patient care and is able to apply care measures according to the needs of the patient and their family on the basis of research-based knowledge and instructions Can calculate the doses of the medicines used in palliative care flawlessly Uses professional concepts related to palliative care expertly and is able to justify activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development in a versatile manner Can apply factors that promote personal and the work community’s well-being in the operating environment of palliative care, and find targets for development

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Is familiar with the special issues of palliative patient care and is able to apply care measures according to the needs of the patient and their family of their own accord Can calculate the doses of the medicines used in palliative care flawlessly Uses professional concepts related to palliative care expertly and on a large scale, and is able to justify and assess the activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development Can apply factors that promote personal and the work community’s well-being in the operating environment of palliative care as well as propose developmental needs based on research-based knowledge
