Objective
After completing the course Advanced paediatric nursing: - you will have deepened your evidence-based competence in the special features related to the care of paediatric patients and will be able to prioritise nursing in situations involving critically ill children and young persons - you will have mastered drug calculations, be familiar with the key medicine groups used in critical paediatric care and be able to administer and evaluate the pharmacotherapy of a paediatric patient - you will understand the impacts of the health and social services reform on the service system in the operational environments of paediatric nursing - you will understand the operating principles required for sustainable development - you will have analysed the special features related to wellbeing at work and the multi-professional workplace community in paediatric care.

Lasten ja nuorten syventävän hoitotyön opintojaksolla opiskelet seuraavia sisältöjä: - Keskosen ja vastasyntyneen hoitotyö ja lääkehoito - Sydänsairaan lapsen ja nuoren hoitotyö ja lääkehoito - Syöpää sairastavan lapsen ja nuoren hoitotyö ja lääkehoito - Lapsi ja nuori tehohoitopotilaana - Kuolevan lapsen ja nuoren hoitotyö sekä lääkehoito - Lapsipotilaan hoidon tarpeen arviointi - Lääkelaskut

- Student knows the most common care needs of a paediatric customer and is able to apply care measures according to the patient’s needs. - Student can calculate the doses of the medicines used in paediatric care flawlessly. - Student uses professional concepts related to paediatric care systematically and is able to justify activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. - Student can apply factors that promote personal and the work community’s wellbeing in the operating environment of paediatric care.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
- Student knows the most common care needs of a paediatric patient and is able to apply care measures according to the patient’s needs on the basis of research-based knowledge and instructions. - Student can calculate the doses of the medicines used in paediatric care flawlessly. - Student uses professional concepts related to paediatric care professionally and is able to justify activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development in a versatile manner. - Student can apply factors that promote personal and the work community’s wellbeing in the operating environment of paediatric care and find targets for development.

- Student knows the most common care needs of a paediatric customer and is able to apply care measures according to the patient's needs of their own accord. - Student can calculate the doses of the medicines used in paediatric care flawlessly. - Student uses professional concepts related to paediatric care expertly and on a large scale and is able to justify and assess the activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. - Student can apply factors that promote personal and the work community’s wellbeing in the operating environment of paediatric care as well as propose developmental needs based on research-based knowledge.
