Objective

This e-course is part of the module Family health promotion and care. After completing the course Paediatric nursing: - You will know the principles and regulations governing paediatric nursing and how to apply them while upholding the principles of sustainable development. - You will know the key measures and methods used in paediatric nursing. - You will be able to apply your knowledge of disabilities when nursing a child or young person with intellectual or physical disabilities. - You will know how to assess a patient child or young person’s need for care. - You will know how to apply knowledge of medicine, nursing and medically assisted treatment when planning, implementing and evaluating care for children and young people, pain management and safe medically assisted treatment in cooperation with families. - You will know how to guide the patient and their family at different stages of care.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

- Student understands the principles and regulations that guide nursing of children and young people. - Student can identify the key measures and methods used in nursing of children and young people. - Student can identify the principles of sustainable development in nursing of children and young people. - Student can identify the key features of nursing of children and young people with intellectual disabilities. - Student understands the assessment and principles of a child and young person's need for care. - Student knows how to describe their knowledge of medicine, evidence-based nursing and medically assisted treatment when planning, implementing and evaluating care for children and young people, pain management and safe medically assisted treatment. - Student understands the importance of family support and guidance in nursing a sick child or young person.

- Student understands the principles and regulations that guide nursing of children and young people. - Student understands the importance of family support and guidance in nursing a sick child or young person and is able to guide the child and the family. - Student understands and can apply the principles of sustainable development in nursing of children and young people. - Student knows and can make use of the key measures and methods used in nursing of children and young people. - Student knows and is able to apply their knowledge of disabilities when caring for a person with intellectual disabilities or physical disabilities. - Student understands and knows how to assess a patient child or young person’s need for care. - Student knows how to apply knowledge of medicine, evidence-based nursing and medically assisted treatment when planning, implementing and evaluating care for children and young people, pain management and safe medically assisted treatment in cooperation with families.

- Student understands and is able to apply the principles and regulations that guide nursing of children and young people in a versatile manner. - Student understands the importance of family support and guidance in nursing a sick child or young person and is able to guide the child and the family in a customer-oriented manner. - Student understands and can apply the principles of sustainable development in nursing of children and young people in a versatile manner. - Student knows and can make use of the key measures and methods used in nursing of children and young people while considering the patient as an individual. - Student is able to apply their knowledge of disabilities when caring for a person with intellectual disabilities or physical disabilities in a customer-first manner. - Student understands and knows how to assess a patient child or young person’s need for care in a customer/patient-first manner. - Student knows how to apply knowledge of medicine, evidence-based nursing and medically assisted treatment when planning, implementing and evaluating care for children and young people, pain management and safe medically assisted treatment in cooperation with families in a versatile manner.
