Objective
This course is part of the module Competence in adult care. After completing the course Internal medicine patient care 2: - You will know how to apply your knowledge of patient care with internal medicine patients and master key care methods used in treating patients with internal diseases. - You will be able to identify the patient’s care needs and implement humane treatment in palliative and end-of-life care. - You will be able to guide and support the patient and their family at different stages of the treatment path. - You will have mastered the medically assisted treatment and fluid therapy used in the care of internal medicine and palliative patients.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
- Student can name the risk factors and symptoms of key cancer diseases and can identify the care methods for cancer patients. - Student understands the care needs and nursing methods of internal medicine patients. - Student can apply guidance and support methods diversely according to the needs of the patient and their family. - Student is familiar with the principles of safe medically assisted treatment and knows the key medicine groups used in the treatment of internal medicine patients. - Student knows how to perform drug calculations without errors.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
- Student describes expertly and extensively the risk factors and symptoms of the key cancer diseases. - Student is able to independently select cancer patient care methods according to the situation and the customer’s needs. - Student acts in a customer-oriented and comprehensive manner when assessing the care needs and care methods for an internal medicine patient. - Student can justify their selection of guidance and support methods according to the needs of the patient and their family. - Student is able to apply the principles of medically assisted treatment and knows the key medicine groups used in the treatment of internal medicine patients. - Student knows how to perform drug calculations without errors.

- Student describes expertly and extensively the risk factors and symptoms of the key cancer diseases. - Student can plan cancer patient care in a customer-oriented and comprehensive manner, basing the process on evidence. - Student acts in a family-first manner when assessing the care needs of patients with internal diseases and is able to comprehensively plan their care. - Student can critically assess guidance and support methods according to the needs of the patient and their family. - Student is able to apply and assess the principles of safe medically assisted treatment and knows the key medicine groups used in the treatment of internal medicine patients. - Student knows how to perform drug calculations without errors.
