Objective

After completing the course Supporting a Traumatized Patient: - you will understand the meaning of traumatization on personal and community level - you will be able to apply traumainformed approach in human relations work - you will be able to help and support a traumatized client in the stabilization phase - you will recognize factors that affect a worker’s work strain - you will have tools for recovery and promoting well-being - you will understand factors that affect secondary traumatic stress and you will know tools to prevent it.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

- The student masters the basic principles of traumatization on personal and community level. - The student knows on a basic level how to apply traumainformed approach in human relations work. - The student has basic knowledge of stabilization phase work. - The student can recognize the most commons factors that affect a worker’s work strain. - The student knows tools for recovery on a basic level. - The student masters the basics of secondary traumatic stress and has basic tools for preventing it.

- The student masters well the meaning of traumatization on personal and community level. - The student can apply traumainformed approach in practical situations in a professional manner. - The student masters various evidence-based tools for working in the stabilization phase. - The student can recognize versatile factors that affect a worker’s work strain. - The student masters versatile tools for recovery and promoting well-being. - The student profoundly knows the phenomenon of secondary traumatic stress and how it affects workers. - The student can in a versatile manner apply tools for preventing secondary traumatic stress.
