Objective

After completing this course, you: - are able to encounter, identify, treat and refer for treatment customers with substance abuse issues - utilise the knowledge and working methods of the field and know how to work within the boundaries set by legislation - treat substance abuse as an illness and understand recovery-oriented care - are able to encounter and support the loved ones of addicts and understand how addiction can affect loved ones - are able to work in a way that promotes customers’ health - use the methods of substance abuse prevention in their work

Pass: You demonstrate through active participation and learning assignments your competence in: - encountering, identifying, treating and referring for treatment customers with substance abuse issues - utilising the knowledge and working methods of the field as well as working within the boundaries set by legislation, treating substance abuse as an illness and understanding recovery-oriented care - encountering and supporting the loved ones of addicts and understanding how addiction can affect loved ones - working in a way that promotes customers’ health and using the methods of substance abuse prevention in their work.
