Objective
In the Basics of Private Law course, the student is introduced to legal thinking and gets to know an overview of the key legal acts of private law. S/He practices the use of legal sources, is able to utilize the Finlex database in data acquisition and uses other legal sites and to acquire the capacity to apply legal knowledge and to understand the importance of legal sources in the field of study. In addition, the student gets to know the basic legal concepts and gets acquainted with the Finnish legal system and understands its commonalities with the EU norms.
