Objective

After completing the course, the student • Knows the general prerequisites for studying at a university of applied sciences • recognize their own way of learning and studying and develop their study skills • can evaluate his own time management and self-management skills • understand the factors affecting student well-being and • knows how to set goals for building a balanced study life.

Content

The course consists of two sections, which are: 1) Studying at a university of applied sciences and study skills 2) Self-management and a balanced study life The themes and assignments covered in this course will help you understand what you are like as a learner and how you can organize your studies taking into account your own coping skills and life situation.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass The students know the general prerequisites for studying at a university of applied sciences. They have acquired the skills to evaluate their own way of learning and studying and to develop their study skills. The students are able to evaluate their own time management and self-management skills and have strengthened their understanding of the factors that influence student well-being. The students have increased their understanding of building a balanced study life. Fail The above mentioned criteria are not met.
